This Privacy Policy covers smostly.com and the PINGOT mobile application (collectively, the "Services"), both operated by Smostly LLC.
Introduction
PINGOT ("the App") is a precious metals portfolio tracking application developed and operated by Smostly LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use the App. By using PINGOT, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
Information We Collect
Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and a password (stored securely via Supabase Authentication). We may also collect an optional display name.
Holdings Data: Information you enter about your precious metals holdings, including asset names, metal types, quantities, purchase prices, and notes. This data is stored in our Supabase database and associated with your account.
Device Information: We use Expo Secure Store to persist your authentication session on your device. We do not collect device identifiers, advertising IDs, or hardware fingerprints.
Usage Data: We do not currently collect analytics, crash reports, or usage telemetry. This may change in the future, and we will update this policy accordingly.
Website Data: When you visit smostly.com, our hosting providers may automatically log standard technical information, such as your IP address, browser type, and operating system, strictly for security and performance monitoring.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information solely to provide and improve the App's functionality: authenticating your identity, storing and displaying your portfolio data, and syncing your data across sessions. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
Third-Party Services
Supabase: We use Supabase for authentication and database hosting. Your account credentials and holdings data are stored on Supabase infrastructure.
Cloudflare Workers: We use Cloudflare Workers to proxy market data requests (spot prices, news, coin search, and AI coin identification). These requests do not include your account information or holdings data. Coin scan images are processed by Google Gemini AI through our Cloudflare Worker and are not stored after processing.
Metals.dev: Spot price data is sourced from Metals.dev via our Cloudflare Worker. No user data is sent to Metals.dev.
Numista: Coin catalog searches are routed through our Cloudflare Worker to the Numista API. Only search query terms are sent; no user data is included.
Please note that while we do not share your personal account data with these infrastructure providers, standard network routing requires them to temporarily process IP addresses to secure the Services against malicious traffic.
Data Storage and Security
Your holdings data is stored in a Supabase PostgreSQL database with Row-Level Security (RLS) enabled, ensuring that each user can only access their own data. Authentication tokens are stored on your device using Expo Secure Store, which leverages the device's secure enclave or keychain. All data transmitted between the App and our services uses HTTPS encryption.
Data Retention and Deletion
Your data is retained for as long as you maintain an active account. You can delete individual holdings or initiate a complete account deletion at any time directly through the App's settings menu. Upon account deletion, all your holdings data and account credentials will be permanently removed from our database.
Children's Privacy
PINGOT is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete it promptly.
Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate data, request deletion of your data, object to or restrict processing of your data, and request portability of your data. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date and, where appropriate, through in-app notification. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
